Job Requirement :
  • An educational professional who focuses on learning outcomes, assessment design and instructional resources that teachers use in the classroom for the respective subject.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or Bachelor’s degree with a Post-graduate Teaching Certificate. Preferably a Master’s Degree in Education.
  • Native speaker English proficiency.
  • Recent criminal police record check certificate.
  • He/She has strong commitment to the school’s beliefs about education and the learning process as adopted in the school’s Mission, Vision and SLOs as well as to high standards and expectations for instructors and students
  • A Subject Coordinator possesses good people leadership skills, organizational skills with attention to detail, strong communication, facilitation, and consensus building skills.
  • Profound understanding of the academic standards related to the discipline, including mastery of curriculum design and mapping.
  • A sound understanding of 21st Century Skills and Global Competencies and their importance.
  • Experince with data-driven improvement planning and cycles of continous school improvement.
Job Duties :
  • nit plan development:
    • Writing, modifying and refining units of study, aligned to academic standards, School-wide Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and the principles of Understanding by Design (UbD).
    • Ensuring full coverage of subject-specific academic standards as per the Curriculum Review Cycle.
    • Designing authentic performance tasks and other summative assessments to assess unit goals.
    • Creating assessment rubrics with criteria aligned to academic standards and SLOs.
  • Team Leading:
    • Ensuring synchronous pacing of teaching across classes within a grade.
    • Mentoring all teachers in the discipline within the assigned school level.
    • Initiating and conducting grade-level subject meetings.
    • Promoting innovative, creative and evidence-based instructional methodologies within the teaching team.
    • Regularly looking at student work in order to inform planning and teaching.
    • Ensuring calibration of grading student work to agreed standards.
    • Monitoring the input of student achievement data into the Student Information System.
    • Conducting classroom observations based on Observable Classroom Indicators and providing scores and feedback to teachers.
  • Data Collection & Analysis:
    • Monitoring and evaluating the creation of student work evaluation documents.
    • Collecting and analysing student achievent data for the assigned subject & school level.
    • Creationg intervention plans with regards to planning and instruction informed by student achievement data.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Teaching assigned classes utilising up-to-date evidence-based learning and teaching strategies.
    • Completing reports and surveys relevant to the discipline.
    • Participating in the selection of subject-specific instructional materials, and equipment.
    • Ordering and/or disseminating instructional and assessment materials for the discipline.
    • Collaborating with other school level subject coordinators of same discipline.
    • Acting as school liaison with all stake holders in matters specific to their disciplines.
    • Advocating for the respective subject with colleagues and supervisors.
    • Attending meetings called for by the Curriculum & Professional Learning Coordinator, School Principals, School Level Coordinators, and the School Director;
    • Other related duties as assigned by the Curriculum & Professional Learning Coordinator.
