To manage and develop business of defined product category by coordinating the local resources during the post-commitment phase.

​Key Relationships

• Local Sourcing Team (SPM/SM etc) - Will work very closely with merchandisers on the coordination of merchandising activities including order tracking, production quality management, deviation management and in-country logistics
• QAD – Will work very closely with Quality Assurance (e.g. Technicians/Fabric Technologists) on all quality issues.

Key Accountabilities

Merchandising Responsibilities

• Provides input to Merchandise Manager on order status and supplier capabilities.
• Responsible for assigned product areas and being the key communicator within the product category in the location.
• Responsible for the coordination of daily operational activities, pre-/production sample development, costing and production tracking.
• Communicates order details and requirements to factories and parties concerned, and manages production process properly to meet quantity, quality, order specification and delivery dates requirement.
• Explain sample specifications to supplier (size, fit, shape, make etc.).
• Track pre-production fabric with fabric team and sample development and ensure matching of samples against required specifications and quality standard.
• Track orders and forecast delays and prevent it or minimize its problems.
• Proactively identify all production related problems.
• Keeps abreast of changing customer needs.
• Identify and diagnose production problems and work with suppliers to present alternatives to both buyers and seniors.
• Supervises Assistant Merchandisers and monitors order tracking activities to meet quantity, quality and order

Order Commitment and Post Commitment Management

• Is responsible and has approval authority for commitment review meeting in which production bottlenecks and support levels are identified and planned, and supplier / production feasibility are confirmed
• Manages Yarn/Fabric and Components with the respective departments.
• Is responsible and drive reference sample developments and validation, sample timelines checking, etc.
• Is responsible and has approval authority for pre-/production management including approval timeline coordination, order tracking.
• Is responsible for garment order deviation process and resolution.
• Is coordinating aspects of production quality management with QA
