Job Title : Baseline Survey Consultant (s) for the Know & Grow project

CARE is an international humanitarian organisation fighting global poverty, with a special focus on working with women and girls to bring lasting change to their communities. CARE is recruiting Baseline Survey Consultant (s) for the Know & Grow project, based in Phnom Penh, but with frequent travel to Ratanak Kiri province.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The objective of the baseline survey is to gather and analyse baseline data in order to generate a holistic perspective of the current situation of adolescent girls and boys, particularly those from minority groups, in Know & Grow intervention areas. The findings will help to inform project design and intervention strategies to improve social status and social relations between girls and boys of various ethnic minority groups.

Job Requirement :
  • At a minimum, master degree in social sciences or related fields.
  • Previous experience in field research in education, adolescent behavior and/or health.
  • Proven track record in conducting mixed methods evaluations, including but not limited to:
    • Evaluation design
    • Development of KAP surveys and quantitative monitoring tools;
    • Development of participatory tools, including with children/ adolescents
    • Training and supervision of research teams
    • Data cleaning and quality control management
    • Quantitative analysis (including advanced statistics)
    • Qualitative analysis and triangulation
    • Report writing
  • The candidates are requested to provide samples of similar work.
  • Excellent writing skills in English.
Job Duties :
  • Baseline strategy;
  • Set of baseline tools (inclusive of the electronic versions), data shells for self-answered surveys1, analysis framework, training toolkit and quality control guidelines;
  • Training of enumerators and piloting of tools;
  • Data collection report;
  • Complete and clean qualitative and quantitative datasets. Quantitative datasets should include a complete codebook. Merged datasets will be required for cohort student data;
  • Draft baseline report;
  • Analysis files, including output and syntax files;
  • A full baseline report, inclusive of the feedback provided to the draft baseline report;
  • Summary report of findings for dissemination with community stakeholders and adolescents;
  • Presentation of findings to project team;
  • Monitoring framework and set of monitoring tools, including electronic versions of the tools and associated quality control mechanisms;
  • Training of project staff on the use of monitoring tools and quality control mechanisms.
